May brings the obvious celebrations of Mother’s Day (May 12th) and National Nursing Home Week (May 13– 17th). So, we thought we’d highlight a few other things you might like to participate in this month!
Celebrating Kentucky Derby Day, Friday, May 3rd.
Saddle up and trot on down for our annual celebration of the famous Kentucky Derby. We will have our very own derby with staff and residents and a Derby Social, complete with Derby pies and other refreshments. Another interesting fact is that Thursday, May 23rd, is National Turtle Day. Residents thought this would be a fun day to learn more about our shy little friends. There will be an actual live turtle race, and we will be eating our fair share of turtles! (the candy kind).
National Hamburger Day
Last but not least is National Hamburger Day, Tuesday, May 28th! This will also serve as our Memorial Day observation. Join us at 12 noon for a delicious Hamburger Bar complete with all the delightful fixings you can think of!
